Blowie

Blowie is an arcade shooter made especially for mobile. One finger control makes this vertical SHMUP easy to play but hard to master and ideal for playing with one hand when you have a few minutes to spare.

Most shoot ’em ups feature boring spaceship or Rambo vs zombie aesthetics. Blowie is clean and fresh, a little angry yellow guy that blows balls at his enemies. There’s no complicated choosing of ships or weapons, so It’s easy to understand what’s going on from the start. There is a smooth level progression across 51 unique levels so you can improve and test your skill.

MY STORY:

I’m Brad, a solo developer. I started developing games in 2019 when I made a couple of basic math games for iOS called Math Shark and Math Bunny. During the 2020 COVID 19 lockdown in Madrid, I decided to dedicate my time something more fun and ambitious. That’s where I came up with Blowie. I was inspired by the shoot ’em ups I used to play in the 80s as a child but I wanted to make it more accessible to a wider audience. That is why I designed it specifically for mobile and did not follow the typical aesthetics of the gender which are focused on war or some sort of space battle.
