Terrifier 2 Review

Terrifier 2 is a film by Damien Leone starring David Howard Thornton as Art The Clown, Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, and Felissa Rose. We pick up a year after the first film after Art the Clown left his mark on Halloween. As Halloween is a few days away Sienna and her brother Jonathan want to be Art the Clown for Halloween. They are both dealing with the death of their Father Jonathan is becoming obsessed with Art.

Sienna is working on a costume based on her Fathers drawing little do they both know what is in store for them. Art the Clown starts to show up in their lives in dreams to see him. Art from the start of the film is on a killing spree and no one is getting away from him. They come to find out their father sketched Art and the victims in his sketched book. Almost as a vision of what is to come as Art starts to terrorize them. Changing their world forever As they go to try to end Art the Clown.

As a huge horror fan and a year full of some amazing films in the genre, this one take the best horror film in my book. This one had it all in my book a good story and the acting was on point and the gore was some of the best I have seen in a while. This just my thoughts and you make up your own opinion. I’m giving this one 9 out of 10 David Howard Thornton kills his role as Art The Clown. David brings Art to life without saying a single word which is no easy task. He does it with so much ease. The whole cast gives an amazing performance Lauren and Elliott knock out their lead roles.

Damien’s writing for this one was on point and his SFX work takes this one over the top. A true horror film with old-school gore that fits the film and each kill Art does. The vibe is an 80s slasher to the letter the soundtrack lends to that vibe and practical effects give it that old-school 80s feel. Some will say it was too gory and that’s fine it is not for everyone just like anything but real horror fans and fans of gore-filled films will enjoy this one.

Getting a bit of back story on Art and the town starts to grow Art the clown lore. The addition of the little pale girl and her backstory added a new element to the film and Amelie McLain plays that role in an amazing way just like David without saying one word. She does speak but it is not her voice you will understand when you see it. She adds a new vibe to this film and was a very well-kept secret in the film.

The gore and SFX in this film made this film for me the attention to detail and work put into it is unreal. In the world of digital, 4K plus resolutions make it harder to make things look real I feel. Each kill Art did felt like they got more and more brutal and gorier. I will say hearing things online and reading people vomiting and passing out while watching this film. I can see this film may be too much for some but for me, it was a horror gore-filled masterpiece in my book I did not want to give too much of the story away in my review cause one must watch it and make their own opinion. This one is a day-one buy for my collection which looks like it with be released in December in the states with some cool additions like Steelcase and 4k editions be sure to give this one a watch. Here is the official info for the film.
