Lisa Frankenstein Review

Lisa Frankenstein is a film written by Diablo Cody and directed by Zelda Williams. It is starring Kathryn Newton, and Liza Soberano in a wild coming-of-age love story.  Lisa is a young woman who is dealing with the loss of her mother and new stepmother. Finds herself lost and in love with a statue of a long-dead guy and a crush on the school’s bad boy.

In a freak accident, the dead guy comes back to life and finds his way to her. Hearing what she would say to him he finds her makes for a wild ride of a love story and Lisa finding her place in the world. They will learn to communicate with each other and slowly fall for each other. Just he comes with missing body parts and together they will complete him in a bloody kill fest and no one is safe. She starts to come into her skin changes her ways and starts to get noticed by her crush only to be heartbroken by him in a betrayal with her stepsister. Things start to fall apart fast and the bodies start to stack and she is now in a bad spot.

It’s a wild love story that hits every point on the list of a rom-com/slasher film. A fun mix of blood and guts gore with love and coming-of-age teenage hormone problems. A 7 out of 10 on this one it is a fun film to watch and enjoyed where the story went and ended. I felt it left it open for part two and with room for the story to continue on. Be sure to check this one out and see what happens to Lisa.
