Jitsu Squad PS5 Review

Oh no! The evil Origami has taken a hold of the Kusanagi stone to get untold power against the world! Master Ramen has sent his four disciples to stop Origami and regain the Kusanagi stone! The game is called Jitsu Squad that is available to play on Steam and PS4/5 consoles.

We were able to get a review copy of the game for our PlayStation 5 console. The download of the game went fairly quick to our console. We enjoyed how cool the animation and sounds for the game. You felt like you were watching an anime movie with its high depth quality of the game. The action was very top notch and reminded from those old school beat em up games. I know, our team took turns to complete the levels in Story mode before unlocking Tag Team mode. We are very competitive to play against each other, so we had to be patient until that was unlocked during the game.

Here is our review:

Pro:

  • Animation and Music:
    • I love the animation of this game as it was so well done. I didn’t expect the game to have this much quality of visuals that were just eye popping! The soundtrack to this game was incredible as well! I had a few songs still stuck in my head while playing this game. The level of quality of the animation and soundtrack to this game is pretty damn good.
  • Top Notch Action:
    • I’m a button smasher! I smashed button’s in this game during attacks to destroy the enemy. I did slow down and learned to use combos to not only destroy the enemy faster but also make it easier to get through the hordes of them. At times, before heading into the final boss of the level, I was seeing a mess hall full of enemies. This would be great times to unlock special moves in the game to use to knock them down a notch.
  • Scrolls
    • Be sure to collect scrolls during the game to unlock special moves for your character. You can even unlock Fury mode!!! I didn’t realize that until going through the game and avoiding them until I finally got one. I was like slapping myself on the head thinking, why I didn’t do this earlier. This is why you do Training first or pay attention during training. We like to zoom through the trainings thinking it will be easy but yeah, learn your training and collect the scrolls.

Con:

Need to beat Story Mode to Unlock Tag Team Mode:

  • I was a bit puzzled as there were only two modes to start off in the game which were Story Mode and Training Mode. Once you complete Story Mode, then you are able to unlock Tag Team Mode. I would have thought Tag Team would have been already available first in the game but needing to wait to beat Story Mode had the rest of the team waiting patiently for their turn.

Rating: 9 out of 10
