Los Angeles, CA – Soulful pop-rock powerhouse Erin Greider – who Wonderland recently described as having songs written with “a playful, catchy, and refreshingly down-to-earth approach” – has released her newest relatable anthem, “Pockets.” The song, now out on all streaming platforms worldwide, marks a pivotal moment in Greider’s discography as she delves into the realms of vulnerability and regret, embracing a piano-based melody that heightens the emotional intensity of the narrative.

The single represents Greider’s most transparent songwriting thus far, reveling in a fervent, piano-centric composition that reveals her diary-esque emotions about a love lost. “I talk a lot about how hard feelings can be, and ‘Pockets’ is the first time I’m sincerely admitting that I’m hurt, and I have regrets about not showing someone how I feel,” says Greider. She adds, “The line ‘should have kept my hands out of my pockets so you could hold them’ completely encapsulates that emotion. It’s such a simple thing, but admitting that ‘I care a lot’ can be really terrifying.” The track, produced by her longtime collaborator Topher Mohr (Mayer Hawthorne), masterfully builds as the song progresses, culminating in a mesmerizing repetitive bridge and outro with ethereal “guitar-monies” that evoke a poignant beauty. In reflecting on the production process, Greider shares, “I love how the song builds as I’m pouring more feelings out. My favorite part of the production is during the repeat bridge/outro, where Topher plays these ‘guitar-monies,’ and the guitars sound like they’re crying. I think it’s really beautiful, and I’m really proud of how this song turned out and how this story was told.”

Erin Greider’s musical journey traces back to her early years, writing songs with childhood friends and picking up the guitar at the age of eight. Her artistic evolution has been marked by significant milestones, from releasing her debut single, “Loser,” the day after graduating from Chapman University to the 2021 release of her debut full-length album, Sim Controllers, and performing at iconic Los Angeles venues like The Mint and The Whisky a Go Go. Greider’s music has amassed over 500k streams on Spotify and 14k monthly listeners and has received raves from notable press outlets like Wonderland Magazine and Guitar Girl Magazine. In 2023, Greider earned a spot on Music Connection‘s Hot 100 Live and Unsigned Artists and Bands list.

With the release of “Pockets,” Erin Greider invites fans into a new chapter of her musical journey. The single is now available to stream and download on all major platforms.
