Montpellier, France, June 11th, 2023 – Listen up, dungeon keepers: indie developer Artefacts Studio in partnership with Dear Villagers have revealed the next entry in their hit The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk franchise with Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master. Coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store this summer, Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master lets players create and customize their own zany, accursed dungeon.

The great sorcerer Zangdar has hired you, the gobelin steward Reivax, to build, manage and defend your dungeon in this satirical heroic fantasy universe of Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. Set years before the tactical RPG and comic books storyline, the Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is in bad shape, close to bankruptcy, and falling apart and under the surveillance of the Dungeons Fund. It is now your job to rebuild everything, replenish the account’s  balance, restore the reputation, recruit  employees, and attract adventurers. You can handle that, right?

As the new dungeon master, you’ll have to design and decorate your dungeon, growing it from a shaky establishment to an infamous lair. Manage your workforce by recruiting minions (or hunt for slaves), avoid a strike, and create a positive work environment. Better make good use of that torture room! The great thing about working for a baddie is that you needn’t be bound by pesky morals. Leave the princess saving to heroes; dungeon making is a villain’s game!

Of course the greater the dungeon’s reputation, the more adventurers will seek to raid it. Lure them to their doom by catering to their weak points (Dwarves love beer, Elves love stuffed animals, and Barbarians love… their muscles). Uncover new lore, make your way through a fully narrated campaign, and tinker around to your black heart’s content in this infinitely replayable sandbox!

Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master will feature a soundtrack by The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk creator John Lang. In addition to creating the series as an audio saga, then expanding it into novels, comic books and games, Lang is also a musician and a singer in his own right with his musical group The Naheulband. Lang will also be featured as a voice actor for the game’s French audio track.

Those looking to take their first step into Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master will be delighted to know that a public demo will be available during Steam Next Fest running from June 19th-26th.

The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is obviously a project I’m very passionate about, so I’m looking forward to letting others try their hand at creating their own interpretation of the place,” said The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk creator John Lang. “Thankfully people won’t have to wait long, as Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master will have a free demo available during Steam Next Fest in June!”

“We loved making The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos and reception for it was fantastic, so we’re excited to continue creating stories in this universe, only with all new gameplay systems to play around with,” said Bruno Chabanel, CEO of Artefacts Studio. “Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master really allows players to let their imaginations run wild as they concoct their own style of dastardly dungeon.”
