Champions Film Review

Champions is a film by director Bobby Farrelly starring Woody Harrelson, and Kaitlin Olson. In a feel-good film about a basketball coach who is about to put himself in a bad spot. His team is not doing so hot his head coach is unwilling to hear his plays a bad move on Coach Marcus’s part will send him into a downward spiral.

From the start, the coach is starting on the wrong foot from a bad tender date that will come back to mess with him. Losing his job to a DUI charge that will change his life forever. He is placed on 90 days of community service to coach a team of intellectually disabled basketball players. Now he must learn to work with them and build a team.

Coach has his hands full with these young players who are full of life. He must slowly gain their trust as well as help them overcome fears and more. He will find himself as a coach and learn so much from these players. He will find his passion for the game and coaching as well as a new love. He takes them from a losing team to a team playing for the championship. Building a real team and bringing these players out of their shells.

This film was a great watch and Woody Harrelson knocked this role out of the park. A truly great film a story that will hit you in the feels and well each of us can see a little bit of ourselves in Coach. I give this one a 9 out of 10 a must-see in my book for anyone.
