Los Angeles, CA (May 6, 2024) – Música Mexicana sensation Luis R Conriquez lit up the stage at the Canelo vs. Munguía boxing match Saturday, May 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pioneer of the ‘Corridos Bélicos’ genre, gave the crowd a live debut performance of his latest unreleased track dedicated to world-class boxer Saúl “El Canelo” Álvarez. The tribute song named “Martes 13”  is set to drop in the coming months, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the official release of this culturally significant anthem tying together both Mexico’s love for sports and music.

During the fight, Saúl “El Canelo” Álvarez welcomed Conriquez as part of his team, enveloping him in the camaraderie and spirit of the occasion. Conriquez was invited to watch the boxing star warm up and get banded up, being  treated as an integral member, being allowed in the ring before and after the fight where Canelo Álvarez dominated his opponent, a rare privilege usually reserved for those within the inner circle of the team.

In a show that radiated Mexican pride, Luis R Conriquez and Canelo Álvarez walked side by side through the roaring crowd as Conriquez performed his unreleased song “Martes 13″ to amp up the stadium before the fight. The música Mexicana icon electrified the atmosphere with a captivating rendition of this exclusive song, grabbing audiences with his soul-stirring melodies and commanding presence. Inspired by the resilience, determination and cultural impact of his fellow Mexican icon Canelo Álvarez, the singer-songwriter’s homage to the legendary fighter served as a testament to the enduring connection between culture, music and sports.

Additionally, Conriquez is set to perform this July at Miche Fest in Chicago alongside other prominent artists in the Latin music space, further solidifying his icon status, with more to come.
