BOYOCA‘s latest single ‘Change’ gets a remix by hotly tipped producer Bacavi, out now via EMK – the electronic music platform launched by Kartel Music Group – STREAM ‘CHANGE’ (BACAVI REMIX) HERE.

Dropping ahead of Boyoca’s set at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend on  27th May, Bristol’s newest electronic export Bacavi steps up with his synth sounds and club ready take on BOYOCA’s original chilled percussive mix of ‘Change’. Having made his debut on Icarus‘s Fly Boy label in 2021 with ‘Closer/The Bell Jar’, Bacavi’s latest EP ‘Never Do’ caught the attention of BBC Radio 1 Future Dance show and picked up support from KISS FM‘s Leftwing:KodyKISS Fresh‘s AmyElle and found airtime on Rinse FM, with Ben Malone naming him as one of his Future 5 Artists for 2022 on KISS FM.

Talking about his take on BOYOCA’s ‘Change’, Bacavi says; “BOYOCA’s music is so rich and soulful that I jumped on the opportunity to remix their latest single. I set out to flip the record into a dance-floor hammer with plenty of club adrenaline but I was also keen to give the remix a melancholic yet uplifting vibe. I love the contrast between heavy-hitting drums and more delicate melody ideas that float along the top”.

Speaking on the remix BOYOCA says: “the guy has some serious synth sounds and is an expert at layering them together into a sonic sculpture. His remix delivered exactly what we were hoping for – A changeup of ‘Change’ suitable to command a dancefloor.”

The Bacavi rework builds on the success of BOYOCA’s debut EP ‘He’s A Fool’,  which alongside the Kiss FM Dance playlisted Jon Turner remix of the EP’s title track, saw the Birmingham-born, London-based duo gaining support across the board from the likes of Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1), Kiss Fresh, Jaguar (BBC IntroducingFAZEmagStereofox and Apple Music. On the mixing side the duo channelled their late night side their sound for their exclusive Magnetic Magazine guest mix and were tapped by British music pioneers Morcheeba for remix of their powerful downtempo single ‘Killed Our Love’, reshaping the original into a softened 2-step and soulful electronica hunting cut.

BOYOCA is the moniker of multi instrumentalists Tim Boyce and Lewis Carr, the duo crafts transformative electronic music with a tangible organic nature, combining real world sounds with electronic beats and grooves. Equally influenced by the dynamics of dancefloor music, as much as the human quality of live instrumentation, they tread the line between the decks and the guitars, the dance floor and stage, the electronic and the organic.

With an appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend on May 27th, which will see them play alongside the likes of DisclosureEats EverythingPatrick ToppingPete TongFranky WahProspaNia Archives among others, will see BOYOCA further solidify their position in the electronic dance music scene.
