Tenney Fairchild’s “Vikes” follows our hero Thorvald is trying to get the attention of the girl he likes, Ida. Taking a cue from Ida’s campaign to ban a competing school’s football team’s mascot, the Redskins, Thorvald initiates an effort to change their own school’s mascot, the Viking. In equal parts similar to cult classics “Juno” and “Election,” “Vikes” respects the idiosyncrasies of its characters in a fresh, uncomplicated way. “Vikes” stars Aidan Alexander (“Granite Flats,” “A Cowgirl’s Story”), Sydney Sweeney (Amazon “The Nocturne,” and “The Voyeurs,” and HBO’s “Euphoria”), Noah Munck (“The Goldbergs,” “iCarly”), and Miguel A. Strike Back Studios is a unique new studio, who will first look to partner with other distributors on projects they are producing/financing. But they will also be able to distribute projects themselves directly to all major exploitation platforms.
