November 9, 2023 – X8 is coming out of Steam’s early access. The full VR game is now available on Steam for $9.99, along with an accompanying Starter Pack when downloaded. This 5v5 VR hero shooter lets you choose to play a variety of heroes, each with their own interactive abilities and unique items, as they battle to restore a path back to their realms.

X8’s Starter Pack includes three weapons that set beginners up for battle. Players can also access an exclusive discounted Founder’s pack called “Mythos,” which features four other new weapons. Until December 7 the X8 “Mythos” ’Founder’s pack is available for 25% off. The pack includes The Knife ‘Evenstar’, The Pistol ‘Prelude’, The Auto Pistol ‘Chronos’ and The Tactical Rifle ‘Genesis’. Forged of Atlantean Ores and assembled by skilled eremite hands, these weapons were designed for X8 players to bring down the mightiest of Demi-gods.

Developed by a passionate team of industry veterans, Thirdverse, X8 provides a groundbreaking VR experience to lovers of first-person tactical hero shooters. The game is set in a world where a digital cataclysm has forced a reboot of all contemporary shooters.

A 5v5 competition in X8 unfolds over 14 rounds where teams must collaborate to either deploy ‘The Syphon’ (a data-siphoning device that detonates after a countdown), at designated map locations during an attack, or deactivate it within 30 seconds using ‘The Defuser’ in defense. The team that eliminates all attackers or thwarts deployment to score the most points emerges as the victor.

• Diverse Hero Roster: X8 features a diverse cast of heroes, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles, drawn from various FPS franchises.

• Three Special Abilities: Each hero possesses three distinct abilities – Instant, Basic, and Ultimate – adding depth and variety to the gameplay. There are 24 incredible, distinct hero abilities in total.

• Hero-Specific Items: Heroes have access to special items tailored to their character with varied functionality, providing situational advantages in battles.

• Variety of Weapons and Armor: Players can choose from 12 different weapons and 2 types of armor, allowing for diverse play styles and strategies.

• Customizable Loadouts: Players can create customized skins and weapons loadouts for their heroes before games.

• Economy System: Players can use funds earned in subsequent rounds to purchase additional armaments, adding a layer of strategy to the game.
