Pryti is thrilled to share her new single “Archive”, complete with an accompanying music video, out today via Welcome To Pariahville records. The British Indian singer, rock artist and multi-instrumentalist hails from the home of metal, Birmingham, UK, and the new song follows the recently released single “Warning Sign” which was featured on Kerrang radio and praised by Rolling Stone India as a global artist to watch. The new singles mark her first new music since the self-released debut LP Tales of a Melancholic in 2015. That album took home praise from the likes of Rock Sound, New Noise, and Cryptic Rock among others. The new single “Archive” is “about hiding things from yourself” shares Pryti, “things that you don’t want to think about so you purposefully put them in a box but then uncover it and deal with it.”

“I had the lyric idea ‘backseat of my mind’ for a few years when I bought my keyboard,” says Pryti of the songwriting process behind “Archive”. “I started with the piano/synth part you hear on the song and the rest of the lyrics started coming out of my mouth and the song was born.”

Pryti has been obsessed with music for as long as she can remember, singing from the time she learned to speak, and playing piano from a very early age. But it was in her teens when she discovered her calling. “Linkin Park’s album Hybrid Theory is what got me into metal,” she shares, “I was 15 years old and didn’t fit in, and they opened the door to a world of metal and rock music.” It wasn’t long before she picked up guitar and started playing bass too. In university she pursued a degree in Music and Media Management, and would use those skills to start her own independent label. “I love the business side” she shares, “I wanted to start my own label and be in charge of my career since learning about the music industry.”

In 2013 Pryti embraced that ethos and released her debut ep Welcome To Pariahville which scored her first review in Kerrang by Sam Carter (Architects). Her debut LP Tales of a Melancholic would follow in 2015, receiving critical acclaim in the UK and USA with praise from Rocksound, Powerplay, Hit the Floor, New Noise, Cryptic Rock and many more. These releases fully embraced the doom and heaviness of metal, while her latest songs, recorded with Pryti’s longtime producer Justin Hill (Sikth, Young Guns, Heart of a Coward), draw from that world but also incorporate more aesthetics from alt-rock, indie rock and electronica. “When I was recording my new music this past year,” shares Pryti, “it finally felt like something was changing. I have worked really hard to become a better vocalist, musician and songwriter. I really pushed myself to the point where it finally felt like I was progressing”
