There’s Something in the Barn Review

There’s something in the Barn that comes from the director Magnus Martens starring Amrita Acharia, and Martin Starr. In a film about a family who just inherited a farmhouse in Norway and uproots to start a Bed in Breakfast in the barn of their new home. Movie across the world with kids is never easy leaving friends and family is never easy.

Just this house has a barn with its own secrets barn elves who if not treated right can become evil as the old owner found out. The family is in for one hell of a Christmas as they invite the townspeople to get to know them. The youngest learns of the Elves from one of the townspeople he tells them the rules to live in peace with them not knowing he has them in his new barn. He meets the elf and befriends it trying to keep the peace but the family blows him off thinking he is making things up.

The father puts up all the Christmas decorations lights up the house and puts up a noisy Santa blow-up that makes nonstop noise. Breaking two of the rules of the Elves bright lights and loud noises. The Elf destroys the decorations they’re told by the local police it could be the local teens. The one other rule to feed it a specific dish on Christmas Eve is broken and the loud party brings the Elves to a bloody battle with the family. It’s not just one that lives in the barn it’s a lot of them.

A fun Christmas-themed film with killer Elves you can never go wrong. I give this one a 7.5 out of 10 a fun film to watch as your decorating or on a cold night. A bit slow at some parts but the drunken Elves make up for it. You also get the family bonding and all that jazz too but I was hooked with Killer Elves but that’s just me. Be sure to check this one out now on Digital from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
