January 12, 2023—New York, NY—Edgeworld, the edgy and expectation-busting sci-fi western returns for a new season with the release of issue #6 on January 17, 2023 from Amazon’s Comixology Originals exclusive digital content line. Written by animator and producer Chuck Austen with art by Patrick Olliffe (Spider-Girl; Hawkman), colors by Lee Loughridge, and letters by Jodi Wynne, Edgeworld is a sexy and gritty adventure series that combines the sci-fi, western, and mystery genres to create something altogether new.
In the series, Killian Jess is the magistrate and a former United Authority soldier who knows the system, upholds the law, and delivers the verdict—with a vengeance. Alongside native Palan Cheela, Killian fights to protect the planet Pala, a backwater, frontier planet on the edge of known space located beneath a riftgate—the greatest and most valuable discovery in galactic history. Together, the duo must battle alien invasions, military forces, black market traders, otherworldly infestations, drug runners and the disastrous, ecological aftermath of a brutal, planet-wide war, in order to save the world they love.
“In this next arc we get deeper into the connections between the past, the present and the future of Edgeworld as we bore down into the relationships between Killian, Cheela, Doc and Shay, as well as the old woman psychic and her historian client,” says Austen. “How did Killian and Doc meet? What is Shay’s story? And how will Killian’s relationship with Cheela deteriorate as her anger festers, putting his life at risk—not only from the criminals and bizarre alien dangers of Edgeworld, but from Cheela herself?”

About the Creators:
Chuck Austen has worked on so many different things he feels the desperate need to lie down. His animation skills have been part of King of the Hill, Steven Universe, The Cleveland Show, and he co-created the hit series Tripping the Rift for SYFY. He has spent the last five years as a producer for DreamWorksTV on Dawn of the Croods, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. He also wrote a lot of comics, including Uncanny X-Men, JLA, Superman, and The Avengers. His favorite personal work, by far, has been with comiXology, Patrick Olliffe and the talented team on Edgeworld.
Patrick Olliffe is a veteran comic book illustrator with over 32 years of experience, working for some of the largest publishers in the industry, including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse and Disney Publishing. His long list of credits include drawing such characters as Spider-Man, Thor, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Catwoman, Hawkman, plus for Disney’s Marvel Press, Captain America, The Fantastic Four, Hulk, The Avengers, and The X-Men.
