The Moon a film directed by KIM Yong Hwa starring Sol Kyung-gu, Do Kyung-soo. In a heart-stopping film about a Korean Astronaut who is the sole survivor of a lunar mission gone wrong. Now he must do everything to stay alive and return to earth. When a spacewalk turns into a nightmare the former director is brought in to try to fix it from the earth. They must work together to bring him home but not without issues with the current director.
The Astronaut is the son of one of the designer of the ship and does not take to the former director telling him what to do. The suicide of his father still weights on him being his father worked closely with the old director. Trying to fix the system on earth the astronaut landed safely on the moon to try to fullfill the mission when the command center on eart drops the ball on the location of a metor shower on the moon. Leaving the astronaut in a very bad spot. A rushed attempt to launch him off the moon to reconnect to the rest of the ship goes south. Leaving him in the worst spot as oxygen is running low and fuel. He is sent off course and loses his radio signal. The old director goes back to his home with his assistant to try to take his life for failing. She stops him and finds a way to hear his Mayday distress calls.
They together with some old equipment to get proof he’s alive and get back to command center to make a last-ditch effort to bring him home. A little help for NASA the old director calls a old friend to try to help him but since she is with NASA she can not help. She could not stand by and let him die in space she lost everything to help. Making for an edge of your seat ending to the film.
A very well-made the film in my book it had a great story a lot of action with a good balance of drama. As you learn the backstory of the old director and the father of the astronaut it hooks you more into the story. The film overall is one not to miss I give this one an 8.5 out of 10. My only issue was not English audio track. Give this one a watch and see how he is saved and all he endured to get back home.
