SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S TEENAGE JOANS HEADS TO SXSW 2023

ADELAIDE, AUS – Juice-box punk-pop band Teenage Joans is thrilled to announce that they will be making their US debut at this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival, taking place March 13-18 in Austin, TX. Teenage Joans kicked off their US performance debut with a live performance on Fox 7’s ‘Good Morning Austin’ early this morning.

Teenage Joans, consisting of vocalist/guitarist Cahli Blakers and drummer/vocalist Tahlia Borg, have been making waves in the music scene with their relentless touring and unique blend of sweet and sour pop-punk.

After taking out the triple j unearthed high crown in 2020, the Adelaide two-piece have not slowed down. In the last 18 months they’ve taken out #87 in the 2020 H100, #84 in the 2021 H100, released their debut EP Taste Of Me, and won a record-breaking 7 Awards at the 2021 SAM Awards including: ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Live Performance’ and ‘Best Release’.

2022 was a momentous year for Teenage Joans, seeing them sell out shows around the country, perform at the Good Things festival, and also take home a South Australian Music Award for Best Punk Artist.

They kicked off 2023 with a deluxe edition of their EP Taste Of Me, the original of which has amassed over 3.5 million streams thus far. The deluxe edition features previously unreleased bonus tracks, as well as alternative versions of songs from the original release. Following their appearances at SXSW, Teenage Joans will return to Australia for a brief run supporting Pale Waves before jumping on national touring festival Groovin The Moo playing alongside artists such as Alt-J, Denzel Curry, Slayyyter, Fatboy Slim + many more.
