Ex-Apple Music Artist and Label Liaison Manager Florian Wilisch joins platform as Head of Artists

(AUSTIN, TEXAS – March 7, 2023; source: Juice Consulting) – SongBits, a game-changing new platform that creates all-new levels of fan engagement, quick and effective new revenue streams and vital new data insights for artists and labels, is poised to bring the future of music to the world’s foremost creativity-meets-technology festival SXSW this year. Partnering with the British Music Embassy as well as South Asian House, the team will drive discussions with artists and labels on how the platform can transform the way they engage with fans by maximising fan engagement and unlocking new revenue streams.

Plans include exclusive live performances from SongBits artists Kiss Nuka at South Asian House and AyseDeniz at the BME showcase on Sunday 12th March. The platform has been busy signing up new artists and is excited to be working on launches for Mat.Joe, KayOrAlpha, Steve Brian, Andy Moor ft. Sarah de Warren, Nash ft. Christina Novelli and Dennis Sheperd over the next month.

The first SongBits launch with British DJ Ashley Wallbridge (Creamfields, Tomorrowland) proved hugely successful when it went live last month. The release sold out in just 34 minutes, making an impressive $20,000 in streaming revenue for the artist and immediately proved vast and instant value in partnering with the platform to launch music in an innovative way, even for pre-existing tracks.

The platform is built by artists, for artists by Russell and Justin Sheffield who have a rich musical heritage as their father founded Trident Studios and discovered Queen. SongBits is also backed by Dave Stewart, the award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, producer, innovator and Eurythmics co-founder who was a 2022 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart says: “since the dawn of the internet I’ve worked tirelessly on re-imagining a new world order for artists, both new independent artists and established artists whose livelihood has been taken away. Songbits is a unique way for artists to receive immediate payment and for fans to have a deeper connection to songs they love – it’s a win-win.”

He adds “I’m very excited to have been involved with Songbits since its inception and delighted that our first tests have proved fruitful; the artists love it and so do the fans”.

Ahead of SXSW the platform has announced that former Apple Music Artist and Label Liaison Manager, Florian Wilisch will join SongBits as Head of Artists, bringing a wealth of industry expertise to scale and grow the business. He says, “Innovation in the music space is what has always driven me. SongBits leverages the most advanced tech and makes it accessible to anyone, so I had to be part of it.”

SongBits is a perfect fan club reimagined as the world embraces the potential of web3. It turns fans into tastemakers, connects them directly to their favourite artists and offers artists and labels new revenue streams with all new levels of data-driven insight. It does this by fractionalising streaming royalties, empowering every fan around the globe to buy a bit of a song from as little as £1 / $1, supporting artists whilst giving fans royalty income for life. By bringing fans and artists together whilst offering exclusive perks, rewards and access in the most direct possible way, SongBits creates a mutually beneficial community which is a win-win partnership for both sides.

To tap into the potential of SongBits and how to unlock new revenue streams for your artists or label by creating the ultimate win-win relationship with your fans, get in touch and come and meet us at SXSW.
