Skillet and Theory of a Deadman Boeing Center at Tech Port Concert Review

Skillet, Theory of a Deadman, and Saint Asonia roared into San Antonio with their Rock Resurrection Tour at the Boeing Center at Tech Port venue. This is part 2 of the original tour they started with but added additional dates from the original tour as many people around the country enjoyed the show.  In San Antonio, there is a huge fan base for Skillet and Theory of a Deadman as they have been to the city many times. We were excited when they announced a San Antonio date at Boeing Center and we made sure we attended this show.

We were media for Boeing Center at Tech Port for the Rock Resurrection Tour featuring Saint Asonia, Skillet and Theory of a Deadman. I was able to attend with our writer Gabby and we discussed the bands performances and how they faired last night. I was able to go to the photo area for photographers and snap some pretty good shots during the Skillet and Theory of a Deadman performances.

Our Thoughts

Saint Asonia

I’ve been a big fan of Adam Grontier’s music from his time with 3 Days Grace to now with Saint Asonia. Adam has a very recognizable voice that when you hear it, you know its gonna be a good song. Well, Adam and the band Saint Asonia didn’t disappoint at all! They came out playing hard with a few Saint Asonia tracks that got the crowd excited. I was able to engulf the vibe of their music during the show as well. While Adam had the crowd in the palm of his hands, he performed a few songs from his 3 Days Grace time. I’ve never seen 3 Days Grace perform, so hearing these tracks performed by Adam and Saint Asonia was pretty damn cool. I’m still fairly new to the music of Saint Asonia, so experiencing them in concert was amazing. I was very impressed by Saint Asonia and will be looking more into their music.

Skillet

I’ve been wanting to see Skillet live every since I saw them open up for Flyleaf at the legendary White Rabbit back in 2007. The excitement in the air was deafening from the crowd awaiting Skillet. Once the lights came back on, Skillet performed an extravagant concert that featured a guest singer, musicians going up and down an escalator, and Jen Ledger coming out from the drums to sing with the fans. The band performed Hero, Monsters, Awake and Alive, Legendary, The Resistance, and many more . While they were starting to perform Finish Line, Adam Grontier from Saint Asonia came out to sing with the band. A very cool moment to see Adam Grontier and Skillet perform today and will leave a memorable moment for the fans attending the show! Skillet was amazing from the beginning to the end! One of the best performances from a band I’ve seen in YEARS!

Theory of a Deadman

Theory of a Deadman came out to their latest track Dinosaur, which surprised me. I was anticipating a song from their earlier catalog yet it was a good song to start off the show. Then the next song had the crowd singing hard which was Bitch Came Back. During their performance, they played Angel, Santa Monica, Lowlife, Bad Girlfriend and few more. We have seen Theory of a Deadman in the past and it was a good performance at Boeing Center. We had hoped more older songs from their self titled, Gasoline, and Scars and Souvenirs albums but all good.

All in all, all 3 bands had fun in San Antonio and gave the audience multiple memories that they will talk about for years to come. Saint Asonia, Skillet and Theory of a Deadman performed very well in San Antonio. This was our first time attending a concert or even visiting Boeing Center at Tech Port. We never ventured into that arena, but heard a lot of good things from our friends. Well those opinions from our friends are valid, this venue is LEGIT! The venue is modern, spacious, adaptable, and has Tesla Coils hanging off the ceilings. We will be back to this venue for future concerts!
