Rolling Stone Future of Music Peso Pluma SXSW 2024 Review

With SXSW 2024, we were excited for the Rolling Stone Future of Music showcase at ACL Live- Moody Theater. The headliner for day 2 is one of the biggest young artists in the world today which is Peso Pluma. I was excited to say the least for this showcase and sharing on social media our thoughts which were extremely positive.

We were arrived at ACL Live – Moody Theater and witnessed the longest line at SXSW 2024. Approximately 4 miles long, there were thousands upon thousands of people ready to dance the night away to Peso Pluma and the rest of the musicians attending the showcase. We were already VIP for the show, so we entered through the VIP line. We got our wristbands and were pretty shocked on the vibe at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. There were couches, an elegant bar, and some amazing pictures of past performers on the wall at the venue. We then found our seats in the Peso Pluma section, got our drinks and enjoyed the show.

Our Thoughts

Pink Pablo

I enjoyed the energy from Pink Pablo! The band played alt rock Latin music that had people nodding their heads to the beats. I enjoyed the singer’s unique voice as he reminded me of a young Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Pink Pablo is on my list of bands to see again in concert!

J Noa

J Noa came out swinging with the speed of her words. I never heard anyone rap that fast in Spanish EVER! She dominated the stage and noticed by the crowd attending the show. J Noa is someone that should be on YOUR playlists when your looking for music to jam to.

Kevin Kaarl

Kevin Kaarl reminded me of old school Austin with his musical performance. The music played by Kevin Kaarl is a mix of Alt – Folk – Country Latin music that was so beautiful. The crowd were hypnotized by the music of Kevin Kaarl while he was playing on his acoustic guitar  and singing with such precision. Kevin Kaarl provided a unique look at his music to the thousands attending the concert that they will for sure  look him up on Youtube / Spotify. I already did and have been grooving to his songs.

DJ Gabby Got It

My FAVORITE DJ whenever we hit up Mala Vida in Austin is DJ Gabby Got It! She got the crowd moving with her slick moves and wicked beats. She even got the crowd singing a Selena classic while we waited between performances. She is a fantastic DJ that we appreciate very much in the community.

Young Miko

I’ve been attending for many years and its rare for a crowd to give a standing ovation applause for a musician. On this day, Young Miko got multiple applauses from the city of Austin with her performance here at ACL Live – Moody Theater. She started off the show with her hit track Wiggy and just keep the music flowing. Young Miko was interacting very well with her fans and commented about fans in the front knowing all her words for her songs during the performance. Young Miko is one of those musicians that deserved her standing ovation applause and can’t wait to hear more of her music.

Peso Pluma

Peso Pluma came out to an explosion of cheers as fans were excited to see the hottest musician in music today. Peso Pluma performed such hits as Lady Gaga, Ella Baila Sola, Bye, and a few more. He even got down on the floor dancing to his tracks that he sung with Karol G. Peso Pluma provided a high intense show for the crowd that have been waiting as early as 4AM for his concert.

We had a fantastic time at the Rolling Stones Future of Music Showcase for Latin music. The future is bright for these musicians and can’t wait to see them more on TV, on the radio, and in concert once more.
