Red Captures The Attention of San Antonio With A Powerful Performance At The Rock Box

The Rated R tour came into San Antonio with a lineup that had the city salivating for their live music. San Antonio’s own Kingdom Collapse opened the tour following up with Saul and then headliner Red. Each band provided a musical experience for each fan attending the show at the Rock Box downtown San Antonio.

We were able to attend as media for Red during The Rated R Tour! Myself and Frank (Frankyzphotography) attended the show at The Rock Box downtown San Antonio.

Our Thoughts

Disclosure: There was an opening band that we didn’t know that would perform. I didn’t get the name of the band though.

Kingdom Collapse

I have been wanting to see Kingdom Collapse perform since I first heard the track Unbreakable on XM Octane with Jose Mangin. Eventually, I found out they are billed from San Antonio, so you know I had to experience one of their shows! When it was time for their performance, Kingdom Collapse opened up the show with some head banding music. They performed tracks including Suffer, Never Be Like You, Uprise and more. I have to admit, I lost it a bit when they performed Unbreakable as the last song of the show. Kingdom Collapse is the future of rock currently where there music is slowly spilling into the ears of future fans. I can’t wait to see them perform again!

Saul

The next band to perform is Saul. Honestly, I believe I have heard of the name of the band but not the music. Well that changed as their music has now been added to my Spotify playlists, Youtube playlists, and Apple Music playlists. The magic that Saul created on stage during the concert was mystifying. You can tell from the band’s facial expressions of how passionate the San Antonio crowd was towards their music. When they talked about their song Brother being adapted by the military as a song to showcase brotherhood, you can feel the power of the crowd by his tone. The singer asked if there was any military in the crowd and you can hear a vicious yell from the crowd by the veterans at the show. The band took care of those veterans with some free swag after the show! All in all, Saul converted my ears to their music and can’t wait until they roll back into San Antonio!

Red

With a tenacious tone coming from the guitar and thunder from the drums, Red came to the stage to a powerful performance in San Antonio. The crowd had a random mix of fans either headbanging, singing, or were just in awe of Red. I was one of those that were just in awe of Red when they performed. I have to exclaim this is my first time seeing Red live so I wanted to watch and just experience the raw power of the band. They didn’t disappoint at all! They had the crowd in the palm of their hand from the opening moments they came to the stage! When they played Lie to Me, the crowd were singing their lungs out throughout the track. For me, Already Over was the track that I had to hear and sing along too as well. No worries on singing alone, the fans around me were there singing along with me as well. There were a group of people next to me that were headbanging, jumping up down, and singing loud and proud for each track that was performed by Red. They were cool peeps! Red captured the attention of San Antonio with their powerful performance which brought some kickass rock to the city.

One of the best rock shows I’ve been to in a long time!
