Qobuz, the high-quality music streaming and download platform, will return to SXSW on March 15th for the second annual ‘Qobuz Sessions at SXSW,’ their series of intimate live-to-record sessions at KMFA Studios in East Austin. A 3D extension of their “boutique in a superstore world” approach, Qobuz will present another promising class of rising indie and experimental artists to perform stripped-down sets in front of small audiences at the event. Each set will be recorded with state-of-the-art equipment for release exclusively on Qobuz as individual EPs, offering a 24-bit Hi-Res “like you’re in the studio” experience to listeners at home.

This year’s sessions will feature London-based jazz-pop multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Pyke (who will be playing songs from his upcoming April EP, Low); New York cosmic indie-folk artist Allegra Krieger; Sudanese-American, free jazz, krautrock, prog rock, electronica band Sinkane, led by Sudanese American multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Gallab; and UK-based electronic, classical and jazz artist Maria Chiara Argirò.

See set times below:

12PM – Allegra Krieger

1:30PM – Cosmo Pyke

3PM – Sinkane

4:30PM – Maria Chiara Argirò

Qobuz first joined SXSW with a virtual session (and resulting exclusive EP) from London-based neo-classical / avant-garde label Mercury KX in 2021. Praised for its pro-artist ethics and superior quality, Qobuz hosted its first in-person SXSW event in 2022 with performances by Circuit des Yeux, Moor Mother, Claire Rousay, and Marina Herlop, and in 2023, kicked off the first ‘Qobuz Sessions at SXSW.’

Listen to last year’s inaugural ‘Qobuz Sessions at SXSW’ EPs featuring Barrie, Caramelo Haze, Daniel Villarreal, DoomCannon, Miss Grit, Shana Cleveland, and Yazmin Lacey (combined link to playlist of the EPs HERE).

Sujan Hong, Qobuz’ Head of Music Content and Editorial, said “We’re thrilled to be returning to SXSW with four fantastic artists who are going to be a joy to experience in the KMFA space.”

Since launching five years ago in the US, Qobuz has made its mark as the true choice for music lovers. Beyond the best sound, Qobuz also creates the most immersive listening experience in the game by offering, human-curated playlists, PDF booklets and credits, expert editorial features including Panoramas (deep dives into an artist’s catalog or a singular work, influential eras, and record labels), reviews, interviews, and exclusive releases like the SXSW Sessions and others from the likes of Christian McBride, Dinosaur Jr., Circuit des Yeux, Makaya McCraven, and more.
