On Tuesday, March 14 from 1 p.m. CT, five SXSW official artists, including Brooke Combe, Crawlers, Rae Isla and Ullysses Wells, will be live streaming in AR technology IRL (in real life) and in the metaverse. A select group of VIP guests will gather at a secret location in Austin, TX during SXSW festival and enjoy an intimate performance, while simultaneously, patrons and fans around the world will conjure a live fully 3D version of the performance to create their own personal house concert. All of this content is free and is part of LICKS Magazine’s pursuit in showcasing the best emerging artists in the most cutting-edge ways.

Using just their phone, fans will place the musicians in their room as AR (augmented reality) where they can view artists from every angle, make them big or small, and even take a picture to share. No app or download is required. Alternatively, fans can enter the VR (virtual reality) world and watch in their Quest 2 headset via the Forma Vision app.

The artists will perform live and talk with people for a 3D AMA in the room and around the world for an entertainment experience like no other.

3D Live sessions feature musicians, comedians, and other performers, giving fans the opportunity to have real conversations and build human connections with creators they may not otherwise meet or see up close up due to challenging travel, illness, or other conditions. These sessions stand apart from other artist-focused AR because the artist is filmed with volumetric video, so they are seen as they really are, without the need for animation or motion capture suits.
