New York, NY (August 26, 2021) – Today, one of the most sought-after independent artists Julia Wolf (aka WOLF) has released her new single “Falling In Love.” She also announced the October 7 release date of her highly-anticipated debut EP Girls In Purgatory, which marks the two-year anniversary of the first song she ever released.
“Falling In Love,” dripping of female liberation, was written by WOLF after an unfortunate but all too familiar encounter.
“I was at the club one night with friends when a guy called me a ‘bitch’ for turning down his offer to dance,” WOLF shared. “It always intrigued me how certain people find it unbelievable when a girl prefers the company of her friends over a random hookup. We used to put ‘lipstick on heavy’ for those nights, just to avoid drunk people trying to make out. I wrote this song wanting girls to know they aren’t in the wrong for enjoying their own company. It’s okay to be independent, live life for yourself and prioritize your friendships! Whoever tells you otherwise is only fooling themselves.”
In July, WOLF released her empowering anthem “Resting B*tch Face: Part 2,” which gave a brutally honest take on society’s unrealistic expectations of women and received praise from MTV, The Line of Best Fit, UPROXX and Wonderland to name but a few. It followed “RBF: Part 1,” an exclusive Spotify Singles track she wrote as part of the streaming service’s Fresh Finds program. WOLF was one of the first independent artists to be featured in the program, which is centered around the Fresh Finds playlist and focuses on helping developing artists learn, collaborate, and grow by giving them the tools for long-term, sustained career success.
WOLF now has over 20 million streams across all DSPs, proving her to be an artist to watch in 2021.
