ENCORE SCREENING ADDED TO SAFILM SCHEDULE IN HONOR OF MARCIA NASATIR

SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 5, 2021) The SAFILM-San Antonio Film Festival just announced an ENCORE screening of A CLASSY BROAD, in honor of beloved San Antonio native and legendary film producer Marcia Nasatir, who passed away Tuesday morning (August 3, 2021) at 95 years old. A CLASSY BROAD, directed by Anne Goursaud will screen Saturday, August 7th at 8pm at Radius Center.

Marcia Nasatir is not only a success-story from our hometown – as the FIRST woman VP at United Artists studio in 1974, breaking the glass ceiling for women in film, responsible for iconic pictures like Rocky, Carrie, Apocalypse Now, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest – but an incredible support and friend to SAFILM. She is an honorary board member and has appeared at several SAFILM events, often bringing with her industry veterans, like producers Harry J. Ufland and Fred Roos. In 2019, SAFILM inaugurated The Marcia Nasatir Award to honor fearless women in film, awarding actress and icon Cybill Shepherd with the first-ever trophy.

A CLASSY BROAD is directed, edited and conceptualized by Anne Goursaud, a Hollywood veteran who credits Nasatir with recommending her to Francis Ford Coppola. Goursaud is best known for her work as editor for The Outsiders and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. She is already slated to appear at this year’s SAFILM for THE EDITORS CUT industry panel and will now screen her inspiring documentary on Marcia Nasatir’s groundbreaking career on Saturday night at 8pm. SAFILM first showcased A CLASSY BROAD as an official selection in 2017, which is now available to watch on digital on-demand. Anne Goursaud will be in attendance to share intimate stories about our beloved classy broad.
