Here is the Q&A with VERITE:

  1. What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?

I’m inspired by my own experiences and my attempts to make meaning out of what feels like a meaningless existence. I have a tendency to overanalyze everything.

  1. What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I was a child of 90’s alternative radio. The Cranberries, Nirvana, Green Day, The Breeders, then some Nelly Furtado, Fiona Apple and No Doubt for good measure.

  1. Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

Not really? I feel like I never really looked up to people in that way. I’d say the closest person would be my mother, just because I admire her work ethic, drive, intellect and risk aversion.

  1. If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

I’d be a botanist in space or a trauma surgeon.

  1. What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?

You don’t need anyone else to begin. Everything you need is accessible if you work harder and smarter than everyone around you. Be persistent and relentless.
