Los Angeles, Calif. (November 18, 2021) – The Better Podcast with Joe Towne Season 1 returns today, November 18 with six all-new episodes and will feature illuminating longform conversations with today’s industry leaders. Guests include NAACP Image award nominee and showrunner, Anthony Sparks (QUEEN SUGAR), Grammy award-winning producer Arnie Cardillo, Emmy-nominated actor, director and Grammy award-winning musician Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Emmy award-winning producer Liza Katzer (TED LASSO, HBO Max’s HEAD OF THE CLASS) and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame photographer Andrew D. Bernstein (MAMBA MENTALITY). The show aims to explore all the ways in which we can achieve success on our own terms, how we can lead more present and mindful lives and quite simply – how to be better humans.

First up on the podcast’s return, Joe and guest Anthony Sparks focus on his beginnings in theatre at Williamstown, the Public Theatre and for five years in the Off-Broadway smash hit Stomp! Sparks shares how the lessons he learned, both on stage and auditioning out in the world, inspired him to take a more active role in the projects he would choose to be a part of and later create into existence, collaborating alongside Ava Duvernay and creating his own shows for Blumhouse TV.

Born in upstate NY and raised on Long Island, Joe Towne’s professional journey as an actor and creator includes a storied career in theater, with roles in a Star Wars Trilogy recap featured on BBC Radio and performed for George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch, Mr. Pink in Edinburgh Fringe Fest’s highly rated production of Reservoir Dogs and opposite Rebel Wilson in the New Line feature film, Isn’t It Romantic.

In 2018, Towne launched The Performer’s Mindset to complement actors and creators of all types with proven mindset tools and techniques to take their work to the next level, while helping relieve stress and burnout.
