(March 4, 2024) Superfan Promotions — the Los Angeles-based marketing agency devoted to creating promotional campaigns for cartoonists, novelists, publishers, comic conventions, and art festivals — is promoting two key members of the Superfan Promotions team and expanding its ranks by adding a respected industry figure. Effective immediately, Pamela Horvath is the Superfan Promotions Executive Director and Hanna Bahedry has been promoted to publicist. Horvath, Bahedry and Superfan Promotions owner David Hyde are now joined by Dustin Holland, the former Lead Interviews & Reviews Editor at CBR, where he also worked as a critic and writer. Holland is the new Superfan Promotions’ publicity coordinator.

“No one wants to be marketed at, but readers and fans do want to have a conversation about books and art,” said Hyde, who founded Superfan Promotions in 2013. “How and where we talk about comics and novels has changed dramatically in recent years, but our core mission at Superfan Promotions remains the same: to create and curate a dialogue that encourages people to discover new stories. I’m incredibly proud to work alongside a team of talented colleagues, who want to champion the arts.”

Superfan Promotions current clients include AHOY Comics, Arsenal Pulp Press, Clover Press, Comixology, Dark Horse Comics, Fantagraphics, Flux House Books, The Folio Society, Iron Circus Comics, Hex Publishers, Lerner Books, Monstrous Books, Oni Press, Random House, Severed Books, and Wandering Planet Toys.

“I love reading, and when I found myself opening a graphic novel with words AND art — oh so many years ago — well, I was hooked and knew I needed to spread the word, and I’ve been doing that ever since,” said Horvath. “Working alongside David — my longtime colleague and mentor — and Hanna, to promote comics and the many talented people who create them is an absolute joy. I’m extremely thankful for our clients and am excited for the future of Superfan Promotions.”

“The Superfan team is a special one and I’m thrilled to be an integral part of it,” said Bahedry. “David and Pamela have built a truly exemplary support system for creators and publishers which makes showing up to work a pleasure every day, and I look forward to continuing our efforts in my new role to connect quality art and stories with the folks who will love them.”

“I’m so happy to be joining Superfan Promotions,” added Holland. “David, Pamela, and Hanna’s passion for great comics and stories is infectious, and I’m excited to work with them to help shine a spotlight on some amazing creators and their work.”
