Austin, Texas, February 28, 2023 – South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals (March 10-19, 2023) unveiled the new look and feel of this year’s SXSW XR Experience World, as well as additional XR programming as part of the 2023 event. The condensed and fantastical artist’s representations of a melded Congress Avenue and Red River Cultural District, floating in space will once again be the place to meet up with festival attendees from around the world March 10-19. We’ll also be showcasing several exciting events across multiple metaverse platforms in our XR Experience Special Events section that will be free and open to the public. This is in addition to the previously announced 32 XR Experience Competition and XR Experience Spotlight, that can be explored live in the Fairmont Hotel March 12-14, 2023 from 11:00am – 6:00pm, as well as the in-person XR and Metaverse Conference Track, which runs March 12-14. Additional XR related sessions can be found throughout the Conference programming.

SXSW once again worked with world-renowned artists and the social XR events studio VRrOOm to design and produce the festival’s latest virtual elements, which will be hosted on VRChat.

SXSW XR Experience Exhibition is primarily an in-person event but there will be opportunity for guests to engage with the XR Experience World in VRChat and other exciting, online immersive events from any device anywhere.
