The public is welcome as eight Austin, Texas musical acts perform as part of Sonic Guild’s 10th Consideration Season

Austin, Texas –  Sonic Guild (formerly Black Fret) has been dedicated to supporting the creation, recording and performance of local music for over ten years. Sonic Guild continues its tenth year of awarding grants and payments to local musicians, venues and music businesses totalling over $5 million. They are proud to announce the Love Your Music Fest featuring incredible Austin acts in the beautiful backyard of GSD&M in Austin, Texas.

“It is an honor to be able to support our musicians with direct grants and payments for over a decade,” said Matt Ott, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Austin Chapter of Sonic Guild. “The music in this town just keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately so do the challenges of living in the Live Music Capital of the World. Attending the Love Your Music Fest is a great way to show your support of our Austin, Texas music community. It’s also a perfect time to join us as a member.”

Sonic Guild thanks Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Ben E. Keith Beverage Distribution, Deloitte, Mad Hippie Cosmetics, Liaison Consulting, and Yotta Energy for their support of Love Your Music Fest. Those wishing to join Sonic Guild as a member may do so at sonicguild.org/join.

Every year, Sonic Guild Members select the bands they love to become Sonic Guild Artists. During the “Consideration Season,” almost 50 Austin acts are presented to members to consider for nomination. Members will begin nominating on April 16. The tenth class of Sonic Guild Artists will be announced May 20th, 2023 at a Sonic Guild Member event.

THEBROSFRESH, Grace Sorensen, Jane Leo, Metrocade, Name Sayers, Rattlesnake Milk, Sailor Poon, and TC Superstar will perform at the Love Your Music Fest on March 15, 12 – 7 p.m. from the backyard of the iconic GSD&M building at 828 W. 6th St., Austin, TX 78703. The event is open to the public and those interested in attending can RSVP here.

“Playing Love Your Music Fest last year was such a great Austin experience. I was nominated by Sonic Guild Members and became a 2023 Sonic Guild Artist shortly after the performance,” said Lindsay Mackin of Annabelle Chairlegs. “This allowed us to receive a grant that has helped take the band to the next level. We officially became a business, set a few tours up and can get our next album finished ! We’re so thankful to everyone that came out last year, especially to those who stepped up and joined as members that day. Thank you for supporting local musicians!“

ABOUT SONIC GUILD:

Founded in 2013, Sonic Guild is a public charity headquartered in Austin whose mission is to build communities to support the creation and performance of extraordinary new music. The organization is an innovative evolution of the age-old symphony patronage model that is focused on supporting popular local music. Together, Sonic Guild’s limited membership has supported musicians with over $5 million in grants and direct payments since 2013. In return for annual dues, members enjoy a broad range of private events in a multitude of venues and an incredible annual awards show named the Sonic Guild Ball. Grant recipients are selected annually through a yearlong process where members, advisors and prior grant recipients nominate, lobby for, see performances by and finally vote on their favorite artists.
