Propstore, one of the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia companies, recently announced its live auction of film & entertainment posters and artwork, with the items on offer expected to fetch over $1.5 million.

Over 700 rare and iconic lots – including this selection of Christmas-themed favorites – will be sold during Propstore’s unique Collectible Posters Auction. Registration and bidding are open at https://propstoreauction.com/auctions/info/id/391. Bids will be accepted online through December 7 & 8, 2023.

Holiday-highlights of the auction include:

White Christmas (1954) – Fine+ Folded One-Sheet

Estimate: $1,200 – $2,400

Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye portray two old war buddies who upon returning home from WWII, become famous stage and radio performers. Soon after, Kaye falls for Vera-Ellen, and together, they plot to get her sister (Rosemary Clooney) and Crosby together. Directed with his usual flair for making all his movies enjoyable, Michael Curtiz helmed this picture with some of the most memorable songs from an Irving Berlin musical. To this day, White Christmas is one of the most popular movies shown repeatedly during the holiday season.

Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) – Half-Sheet, Style A, Very Fine-, Folded

Estimate: $500- $1,000

Vincente Minnelli-directed hit Christmas musical, based on the novel by Sally Benson and starring Judy Garland, whom Minnelli married just the following year. Best known for the songs “The Boy Next Door”, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “The Trolley Song”, which Garland reportedly performed in a single take.

A Christmas Story (1983) – One-Sheet; Mint Rolled

Estimate: $300- $600

A holiday season staple, this family comedy is the third film in the Parker Family Saga, in which the eponymous clan deals with, among other things, a faulty furnace, their neighbors’ troublesome dogs, and a table lamp in the shape of a woman’s leg.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) – One-Sheet; Very Fine- Folded   Estimate: $300- $600

In the 1980s, you would have needed help finding two comedy stars bigger or more popular than Steve Martin and John Candy. So, it’s no surprise that director John Hughes would team these comic superstars when casting Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (1987) as two mismatched, stranded travelers trying desperately to get home – over three long days – in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.  A blockbuster motion picture that both Martin and Candy often cited as one of their favorites and which has now become an integral part of many Thanksgiving traditions.

Die Hard (1988) – One-Sheet; Very Fine Rolled

Estimate: $300- $600

Bruce Willis has portrayed many memorable characters on the big screen, but none so iconic as John McClane. In the movie “Die Hard”, McClane, a brave police officer, risks everything to foil a plot by the terrorist leader Hans Gruber (played by Alan Rickman) to steal millions of dollars in bearer bonds from Nakatomi Plaza on Christmas Eve. The movie was a huge success, earning over $140 million despite having a budget of only $30 million. It also spawned two sequels and was recognized by the National Film Registry in 2017 for its cultural significance.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) – One-Sheet; Very Fine- Rolled

Estimate: $100- $200

The first feature film by the renowned stop-motion animator Henry Selick, is based on a story and characters created by Tim Burton. The movie portrays the consequences when Jack Skellington, the “Pumpkin King” of Halloween, decides to take over Christmas. This dark and adventurous musical has gained a cult following since its release.
