Los Angeles, CA (July 7, 2023) – Peso Pluma’s highly anticipated album “Genesis” which dropped on July 15 continues the artist’s historic career. The album debuted at number three on Billboard 200, the highest chart position for a música Mexican album. The álbum rose to number one on the Billboard Latin Albums Chart this week with 101.8 million streams. Génesis boasts the largest streaming week ever for a regional Mexican album. This week he broke Bad Bunny’s record on Hot Latin Songs Chart with 25 simultaneous titles.
On June 30, three bonus tracks joined “Genesis” including an epic surprise collaboration with Grupo Frontera titled “Tulum” and previously released singles “PRC” alongside Natanael Cano and “Las Morras” alongside Blessd.
On Spotify, where Peso Pluma is the current RADAR artist, “Genesis” became the number one album debut global, “Lady Gaga” became the number one song debut global, and on June 23 the album became the all-time most streamed música Mexicana álbum in one day. It is currently the number one album globally and Peso Pluma is currently #4 on Spotify’s Top Artists globally.
Similarly, Música Mexicana reached a new high following the release of “Genesis” on Apple Music. The album broke the worldwide record for the highest first-day streams for a Música Mexicana album in Apple Music history and reached number one on the Top Albums chart in seven countries, number one on the Top Latin Albums chart in 15 countries, and 13 of the songs on “Genesis” charted on the Global Daily Top 100 chart upon the release of the album. There are currently 18 Música Mexicana songs positioned on the Global Daily Top 100 chart – a new record for the genre – Peso Pluma is credited on 15 of the songs.
