(January 22, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA) – Netflix Music is excited to announce the release of Griselda (Soundtrack from the Netflix Series) with music by two-time Emmy-winning composer Carlos Rafael Rivera (Godless, The Queens Gambit). The 29-track album is available today, January 22, on digital platforms here. The D2C-Exclusive Green Marble Vinyl is also available now for pre-order from Diggers Factory here, limited to 300 units.
Carlos speaks on the score, “Under the visionary direction of Andi Baiz, the Griselda soundtrack unveils an operatic fusion of harpsichord, choir and orchestra, supporting Sofia Vergara’s masterful performance. In its more intimate moments, the classical guitar delicately helps underscore the many facets of this larger-than-life character.”
Carlos’ addition of the Harpsichord, colored by string swells, not only proved very effective but also helped to define the unique musical palette of the story. The orchestra used was a symphony in itself, including winds, brass, strings, percussion, and choir.
The intimate guitar, with its roots deeply embedded in Latin American music, provided a poignant counterpoint to the grandeur of the orchestra, serving to underscore the personal and emotional aspects of the narrative.
