Better Strangers — the Miami-based rock quartet featuring deCasa (Vocals), Joey Rodriguez (Guitars), Yang (Bass) and Nic Collins (Drums) — are excited to present the interactive, 360-degree music video for their new single, “Raincheck.” Shot entirely using a GoPro MAX action camera and its corresponding software, “Raincheck” gives viewers the ability to flip, rotate and experience the clip any way they choose.
“The 360 interactive video is a continuation of the ‘Raincheck’ official music video that we released in December,” the band says. “Although we loved creating our own vision for the music video, we also loved the idea that the viewer could manipulate and change what they were seeing throughout the video. We feel this really showcases our live energy as a band to the audience while they’re able to focus in on any band member of their choice.”
Written, recorded, engineered, produced and mixed entirely the band itself, “Raincheck” is the band’s latest ripper written about a toxic relationship and one that sees the emerging outfit tap into the more aggressive and experimental side of their sound.“‘Raincheck’ is an important release for us as it’s the first song that really shows our more progressive side,” the band said. “It’s a small glimpse into what our audience can expect from us moving forward; it always goes down really well when we play it live, so we’re excited to finally have it out there.” Watch the interactive, 360-degree music video for “Raincheck” on YouTube HERE and via American Songwriter HERE.
“It’s an exciting time for me, musically, as I’m really finding my footing and discovering who I am as a drummer, musician, and songwriter,” adds drummer Nic Collins. “It’s hard to ignore the influence that touring with Genesis had on me on a musical and personal level. It’s definitely different to what my dad was writing back in the day, but there are definitely some progressive treats scattered throughout the track. ‘Raincheck’ really introduces everyone as to what kind of drummer I am.”
Better Strangers is an intersectional experience that blurs lines and disregards categories. Its members hail from different sides of the world, as its music draws from the various corners of human creation in a unique synthesis of genres. 2022 saw the band reveal its debut single, “But I Don’t Know Your Name,” which premiered on Rolling Stone. The dynamic, psychedelic and powerful track showcased the band’s impressive range and earned them slots at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival along with numerous club shows around the UK and US. They shortly followed with the moody and more subtle “Nicotine Dreams,” a track about substance abuse and self-alienation.
