Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?

I take influences of all kinds of music, but generic stories of people’s lives are also very inspiring, good books or movies too. Sometimes when I see something interesting in nature my mind can fly to somewhere and I invent a story and this way it might give me idea of some melody or even a whole song. Basically, there isn’t genre or style of music what I don’t listen as long as it is a good song. I listen a lot of pop and rock but also black metal and sometimes classical music as well. Usually, I enjoy of the melodies and rhythms which makes me feel something deep or reminds me f.e. from my childhood memories.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

I remember when I was about 5 or 6 years old I did listen LP-records that my parents had. Mostly there was different Finnish artists records. Then my cousin who was a few years older than me, recorded casettes from different artist like Michael Jackson & Roxette. After this came rock music like AC/DC, Scorpions etc. There was one show on Finnish Radio every Wednesday evening where they played only hard rock or metal music. Those times I got to known Metallica, W.A.S.P, Twisted Sister, ACCEPT, Iron Maiden, Helloween etc. That was the time when my soul was sold to metal music.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

When I got my first own drum set, those days Dave Grohl was my personal hero! When I got older, I truly have started to appreciate especially other drummers who compose music to their bands. I think that this is quite rare in bands that the drummers compose their music.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

I don’t know. I can’t imagine the world without music. If I wouldn’t play any instrument or if I wouldn’t have the need to compose music I probably would work in a studio as a producer or as a sound Engineer.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?

Explore a lot of music and find our own way to create. Be true and open in your art. Practice Always, if you play an instrument.
