Today, we sat down with Alexrincon to talk inspirations to write music, heroes and much more. Be sure to check out the music of Alexrincon below after the interview on Spotify!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

Life in general is my normal inspirations. Whether or not artists agree, I think normal everyday life affects our art and its outcome. I try to let my creative juices flow naturally and not force anything with this lofi project. I will sometimes go months without writing anything, and I’m completely fine with that.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

Growing up it was a lot of the same angst-filled music that a lot of my friends listened to. Blink 182, Sum41, Linkin Park, Nirvana, etc

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

My father. My father was my hero as a kid, I wanted to be just like him. And he was and is a very good musician too!

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

I would have probably gone into something football (soccer) related. I’ve played football for over 20 years of my life, and had aspirations to go into professional sports. I think if music had never happened I would probably be a football coach or scout.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?
Honestly just get out there and do it. One of the best decisions I ever made in my music career is to just get out there and do it. Start a band, learn how to play an instrument you like, take lessons on YouTube, meet people online and ask if they want to collab on a song. Just do it!
