Renowned Singaporean artist and singer-songwriter Haneri, formerly known as Daphne Khoo, is making her triumphant return after a brief hiatus with a luscious new project and a fresh sonic direction. The fourth instalment of her upcoming EP ‘Love (Part Three)’ comes in the form of enchanting chill-pop single ‘Thin Line,’ a self-produced offering that showcases Haneri’s evolution as an artist.
Haneri’s debut in 2017 was marked by the chart-topping single ‘Burning Up’, which quickly gained traction in 6 different countries, including a remarkable #9 spot on the Spotify charts in Singapore. The first three singles from the EP, ‘Start Again’, ‘Worry’ and ‘Curious’ have all been featured on New Music Friday (Singapore) and New Music Friday playlists in several other countries.
Diversifying her collaborations, Haneri has teamed up with internationally recognised artists such as Charlie Puth, Kehlani, Paloma Faith, and even ventured into the EDM scene with DJs like DASCO and Dash Berlin. Notably, her collaboration with Vietnamese sensation Hoaprox and internet star YUAN led to the creation of ‘Saviour’, featured in the immensely popular game Rocket League.
Her new single ‘Thin Line’ marks a significant milestone for Haneri, as she takes full creative control of a song she wrote, produced, and performed. This alt-pop ballad transcends listeners into a world of dreamlike synth pads and atmospheric guitars, seamlessly blending elements of dream pop, indie, and electronic music to create a mesmerising sonic experience.
