San Antonio, TX – In honor of its 75th anniversary, the Freeman Coliseum is giving back to the  community in a heartwarming way. The Freeman Coliseum has embarked on a special initiative  to donate care packages to new mothers and their babies, a gesture that symbolizes its deep  commitment to the San Antonio community.

The care packages, thoughtfully assembled, include essential items such as onesies, blankets,  and wipes. These gifts are not just practical; they are a token of the Coliseum’s longstanding  connection to the families in San Antonio.

“As a venue that has hosted countless memorable graduations, we cherish the idea of celebrating these future graduates as they walk across our stage. This initiative is our way of  celebrating life’s beginnings and achievements” said Derrick Howard, Executive Director for the  Freeman Coliseum. “I can’t wait to see these babies attend their first event at the Freeman  Coliseum!”

The first round of donations was made yesterday at University Hospital, pictured below. The  Freeman Coliseum’s team was greeted with gratitude and joy, reflecting the positive impact of  their efforts.

The next stop in this heartening journey will be at Any Baby Can, a renowned local non-profit  organization. The Coliseum will be making their donation on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at 11:00 AM. This event is expected to be a meaningful occasion, further strengthening the bonds within  the community.

The Freeman Coliseum’s 75th anniversary is not just a celebration of its storied past but also a  reaffirmation of its dedication to the future generations of San Antonio. By supporting new  moms and their babies, the Coliseum is planting seeds of hope and joy in the community,  fostering a brighter future for all.
