Nashville, TN – March 29, 2024 – Last night (3/28), Texas born and raised country singer-songwriter Wade Bowen kicked off the 2024 season for the defending World Series champions, the Texas Rangers, by delivering a heartfelt performance of the National Anthem at the season opener against the Chicago Cubs. The crowd erupted in cheer as Bowen’s name was announced, with continuous waves of ovation as each powerful note was delivered.
“I’ve been a Rangers fan my entire life, so performing the Anthem at the Season Opener was an absolute dream come true for me. And an unbelievable honor of a lifetime,” said Wade. “Opening Day, unveiling of the World Championship banner and having the trophy there.. Just all of it was a day I truly will never forget for as long as I live.”
As an exclusive moment for the 40,000+ crowd at Globe Life Field, Bowen debuted his gritty new song “Nothin but Texas” off his forthcoming album, Flyin, to be released on May 10th. A fitting anthem for the Texas-based team, the bluesy track spotlights Wade’s unwavering love for his home state, the attitude that it has given him, as well as how it has influenced his diverse musical tastes from ZZ Top to Blues to George Strait. The accomplished singer-songwriter kicked off the week by winning Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year at the 2024 T3R Awards, marking the second year in a row that Bowen took home all three awards. These highly regarded Texas radio recognitions solidify Wade’s commitment to his career and true passion for his craft, continuing to perform over 200 shows a year while releasing over a dozen records that each put his gifted songwriting and incomparable vocals on display.
