Little by little, Chucho Rivas has achieved dreams he yearned since the beginning of his career. His talent and unique style have taken him to Mexico’s Auditorio Nacional as the opening act for artists such as Timbiriche or Ha*Ash, and now he joins one of Latin America’s greatest voices, Yuridia, to present his latest single, “Como Tú” (Like You).

“”Como Tú” is a dream come true for me. Having the opportunity to work with an artist as talented as Yuridia has been insane. I am infinitely grateful to her and her entire team.” comments Chucho Rivas.

The song was born two years ago, when the singer went through an emotionally complicated situation.

“The song was originally called ‘Niña’ and it talked about not being happy with someone’s actions. However, when Yuridia became part of the song, Saak, who produced the track, and I wrote this new version that narrates a conflict between two people who constantly fight and have mixed feelings about each other. The song’s message is that we are a reflection of the things that bother us, and very often they people who you cannot stand are people just like you.” explains the singer.

This alliance with Yuridia went beyond the union of their powerful voices. Yuridia involved herself in the video direction and in the image that Chucho has throughout the clip that accompanies the song.

“The video was directed by Matías Aranda, Alán Figueroa (photographer) and Yuridia. It was an incredible adventure since the wardrobe fitting. Yuri and Mati did an amazing job with all my looks. We spent those three days of the shoot dreaming and coexisting. Each of the locations we visited have great anecdotes and laughs that I will forever keep with me.

“I am very grateful to Matias Aranda, Alan Figueroa, Saeb Ayala (Toto), Vania Quesada, Ivone Zurita, Genaro Gaxiola, Max Gonzalez and Nahuel Escobar. All of them treated me amazingly and inspired me with their anecdotes and with their great hearts and talent.”
