Chalk Art Manga A Step By Step Guide Review

Chalk Art Manga: A Step by Step Guide is fun for the whole family! You and your family can sit down with some chalk and create some anime art that will make you feel proud of your art. Danica Davison and illustrator Rena Saiya have come to together to bring a guide to help children and novice artists showcase their favorite manga through sidewalk art! This guide is very depth and features many illustrations through the step by step process.

We were able to get ourselves a copy of the book and take turns on creating some manga glory. I have to admit that my art is really creative at just stick figures haha! With the help of this book, I was able to turn the page on my own drawing as well as learn some things I didn’t realize that were important in sidewalk chalk. We did a quick review below of the book but we fully recommend getting this for a friend or family member that loves anime or manga and this will help with their own creations.

Here is our review:

Pro:

  • Step by Step
    • This guide goes in depth in the various steps to create your own manga image. As a person that is a novice in art, this helped me tremendously to learn the different hand placements and strides for the creation of my art. The art, after multiple tries, became a bit easier and the images started to look similar to what the author and illustrator had created on those pages. I’m digging this hard as I can’t believe those pictures came from me!
  • Types of chalk
    • I never realized their were types of chalk needed on where you would create your sidewalk art. The pavement had a different type of chalk to be used due to it being pavement and etc. This was a pretty good learning experience for myself and knowing to buy the right chalk needed for the sidewalk chalk.
  • Illustrations
    • The illustrator did a fantastic job with the images of each anime character to bring various types of manga to life. This made it easier for myself and others to translate that to our own art. The illustrations were done very well and I’m very impressed!
