SXSW had a ton of music showcases throughout SXSW but one caught our attention. Billboard Presents The Stage had 3 concerts that showcased 3 different genres of music that is on fire at the moment. All the shows were hosted at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park.
The first night featured musicians Lola Brooke, Armani White, and Lil’ Yachty to perform at Billboard Presents The Stage. We didn’t make it out to this show as a storm was brewing in the Austin / San Antonio area. Everyone knows that I have bad anxiety when there are storms in the evenings. I had to pass on this one but I saw online Lola and Armani tore up the stage that night. Lil’ Yachty was about to take the stage, when the show was called due to lightning in the area.
The second night featured musicians Eladio Carrion and Feid to perform at Billboard Presents The Stage. We barely made it in time to the venue as the shuttles for SXSW weren’t as accurate and fast as they led us to believe (Second year in a row we had trouble with SXSW shuttles.) We had to get off on 3rd and Congress to call a Uber to take us the rest of the way to Moody Amphitheater. Once there, we checked in and headed into the venue.
The opener DJ Gabby Got It got the crowd groovy hard to her mixes behind the table. She won me over as a fan due to her awesome DJ’ing skills and just getting everyone psyched up.
Eladio Carrion came out to his hit tracks and sang hard for the fans. I never seen Eladio before but I heard of his music. He sang his heart out for the fans and we were excited to hear him sing.
Feid came out and got everyone dancing hard with his tracks. Even I got down with a few ladies to showcase some of my moves during the show.
NEXT NIGHT
The last night for the show featured musicians Kaskade and Deadmau5 coming together to form Kx5 to perform at Billboard Presents The Stage. My team and I arrived after walking from Paramount theater (yet another shuttle situation again) to Moody Amphitheater. We checked in and took pictures around the venue.
We met a Selena cosplayer named Marisa that was there enjoying the show! “Marisa, if your reading this, thank you for the photo!”
Kaskade and deadmau5 aka Kx5 took the crowd through a trip of classic hits from both artists as well as new music from their album. We were in the front row of the show and could feel the bass for each song. We jumped up and down for each track as they got the crowd pumped with their shouts of AUSTIN!
After the show, we were exhausted but continued on to a few after parties.
Billboard Presents The Stage showcased huge names in the music industry and provided fans a way to watch them perform in Austin. We are thankful and excited to have attend these shows. We can’t wait for SXSW 2024 to see who Billboard brings to showcase for SXSW 2024.
