February 16th, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA): Bailey Coats has released her newest single “Lying to myself”. This track along with her previously released singles, “Stranger Things”, “IDK”, “Something in the water”, “FOMO”, will all be a part of her upcoming EP, dropping in the Spring later on this year.

“Sometimes it’s easier to lie to yourself than actually being honest with what you want. By trying to keep the desires and wants of my then partner at the time ahead of my own, I was hurting him, but especially destroying me. I had been suppressing my own dreams for the sake of someone else and at the time we wrote this song it became the revelation I had tried to deny for so long. ‘Lying to myself’ is a song that came from a painful and honest place, but it is probably my favorite song to date because it set me free.” – Bailey Coats

Bailey wrote “Lying to myself” with veteran producer of The Rascals’, Khris Riddick-Tynes (also known for his work with Ariana Grande, Kehlani, and SZA), who also had a hand in producing all the songs on Bailey’s upcoming EP, and Republic Records artist Amanda Reifer (known for her work with Kendrick Lamar). Bailey wrote this song about a real-life experience of putting aside her ambitions and passions for the the sake of making someone else happy. Worrying about potentially missing out on life, she realized that she had evolved and was no longer the same person she was when she started her romantic relationship. The end result is this lyrically honest track that Bailey hopes encourages her listeners to embrace the truth in themselves and pursue their passion, even if it’s not the easiest choice.
