A side story for ASTLIBRA starring a new female protagonist in a 20+ hour adventure! Take control of the baker’s reclusive daughter to challenge randomly generated dungeons in a roguelike-style gameplay loop.
We were able to get a review copy of ASTLIBRA Gaiden and the DLC companion titled The Cave of Phantom Mist. I was able to play ASTLIBRA Gaiden first and was blown away by the game. I played for a few hours before I put in the review code for the DLC part. With The Cave of Phantom Mist added, you start off as a daughter of the town baker who will follow in the footsteps of ASTLIBRA. She will go through various memories of ASTLIBRA while your playing the game. Your able to collect crafting materials in each floor to create armor and weapons. I will stop here and say, get the DLC and play. Your going to be in for a ride of your life. There were times I had to force myself off the game to shower, go to work, etc.

Pro:
- Character Customization
- One of my favorite things of The Cave of Phantom Mist is customizing my character. The amount of armor for your character is sick! I noticed that your look no longer changes when you add a different set of armor, yet gives you that tactical advantage! I liked having hats, new outfits, and more throughout the game. I enjoyed having my character reflect my thoughts of how she can evolve throughout the game.
- Combat
- The combat for The Cave of Phantom Mist is just outstanding! I haven’t played a game with a combat system such as this one in YEARS!
