Portland, OR – Comics and graphic novel publisher ABLAZE takes readers on a fantastically fun adventure with the launch of the graphic novel series, SHEPHERDESS WARRIORS on April 9th.
SHEPHERDESS WARRIORS is the odyssey of a young heroine living great adventures in a medieval-fantasy universe inspired by Celtic legends. An endearing tale, suitable for most all ages, it features warm, charming artwork throughout and a story rich in humor with lots of twists and turns, while giving pride of place to family and community ties.
Creator/writer Jonathan Garnier and artist Amélie Fléchais’ SHEPHERDESS WARRIORS will be published as a 2-volume series in-print and digitally, with Volume 1 coming April 2024. Volume 2 is set for release later this year. ABLAZE titles are distributed in-print worldwide by Diamond Comic and Diamond Book Distributors. It’s been 10 years since the men of the village left to fight in The Great War. But the women quickly took charge of village matters. This is how the “Order of Shepherdess Warriors” was formed, a group of female fighters chosen among the most courageous and acrimonious, to protect not only their flocks, but also the village! Molly is happy because as soon as she turns 10, she can finally start training, and if she’s good enough, she can join the order and work out why there are more and more ferocious wolves in the valley. This quest will take her far beyond the boundaries of the land she knows, into the sorcerers’ forest and on the trail of her missing parents.

About Jonathan Garnier
Born in 1982 in Normandy, France, writer Jonathan Garnier concentrated his studies on graphic design and comic books. Following an initial job as a print designer for video games, he joined up with publisher Ankama as a graphic designer and illustrator. He then became inspired to give life to his own creative projects and soon began developing comic book scripts.
About Amélie Fléchais
Amélie Fléchais is a children’s book illustrator and a visual development artist. She has released two comics, Chemin Perdu and L’Homme Montagne, as well as a children’s book, Le Petit Loup Rouge. Amélie worked with her partner, writer Jonathan Garnier, on Shepherdess Warriors, inspired by their travels in Ireland and Scotland.
