The Hyatt Regency DFW Airport Review

My team and I headed to Grapevine, Texas to attend the Texas Frightmare Weekend yearly event. The event is being held at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport which is located inside the DFW airport. When we got to DFW airport, Google Maps took us on an adventure trying to get to Terminal C for the hotel parking. Once we got our situation fixed, we were able to find front parking at the airport.

For our stay, we stayed Thurs Night until checkout which was Sunday Morning. We tried to see what the hotel offered during our off times from attending the convention, but were met a few road blocks. We tried to learn more about the hotel as well as its amenities but a few managers didn’t understand the scope of what we were asking. One of the manager did and explained what the hotel offered for their guests and the comfort they provided.  We did a review of what we liked and what we didn’t and gave it a score for our stay.

Here is the review:

Pro:

  • The Bed
    • Oh my LAWD! The bed at this hotel was magnificent! I haven’t had a good nights sleep in awhile until I slept on this bed. The bed was very comfortable to the touch. This made it extremely hard to leave my room to do my media work downstairs for the convention.
  • Cold Air Condition
    • In Texas, the temperatures can get very hot very fast. I enjoyed that the air condition at the hotel was very good. The thermostat only went down to 65 and it was all you needed. The air was clean and crisp which provided a fantastic atmosphere.

Con:

  • Basic Taste Food
    • I was told plenty of times that the food was the best in the area due to their chefs. I sat down and ordered some food with my team and noticed the food. The presentation was good but when you bit into the food, it had a taste where you felt like tossing it away. I couldn’t eat it all, I had to leave as wasn’t that good. I felt like I was eating HEB burgers that have been out of the fridge too long and it gets that certain taste.
  • Broken Ice Machine
    • One of biggest gripes was the ice machine broken on my floor! I had to go on a crowded elevator to various floors to get my ice for my drinks and relaxation. On normal days, this should be a problem but this was during a major convention. I expected the hotel to be at its best but instead I was shown it wasn’t.
