Los Angeles – Up-and-coming game design company, The Dungeon Society, announced today that it will unveil its SEASONS OF ADVENTURE, a new 5e compatible advent calendar, on Kickstarter from Nov. 1 – 30.

The SEASONS OF ADVENTURE advent calendar comes with daily miniatures, tokens, maps, music, a campaign guide, and more, leading up to a playable winter adventure about epic heroes, menacing monsters, and a quest to save the land of Aurorea. The new calendar will also offer stat blocks for the monsters, magic items, and NPCs, accompanied by eye-catching  full-color artwork and a gripping story of mystery, danger, and magic.

According to Ron Ogden, CEO of The Dungeon Society, “As huge fans of pop culture advent calendars, 3D printing, and professionals within the TTRPG space, our team determined that there was an unmet market need and that something uniquely new and exciting was needed. So, we put our heads together and came up with the SEASONS OF ADVENTURE advent calendar. We are excited about the launch of this new product and are confident that it will be enthusiastically received by our backers.”

SEASONS OF ADVENTURE advent calendar focuses on the frozen realm of Aurorea, where snowy peaks overlook the harsh wilds below. The story begins in the Crystal City of Tannenholme, a beacon of light and safety to those with the strength to reach its gates. It is a place where goodwill, compassion, and selflessness are gifts given freely by the city’s  kindhearted citizens, and is watched over by Father Nikolai, a  celestial being of love, cheer, and radiance.

The magic generated by Father Nikolai and his people has long brought balance and peace to their corner of the realm and many others. Once a year, when the veils between planes are thinnest, he delivers these gifts to the far realms so that others may share in their joy. However, this year, not all is well in Aurorea.

The SEASONS OF ADVENTURE advent calendar features dangerous beasts of the wild and  foul horrors that lurk closer to Tannenholme as a dark storm passes over the land. The safety of the city walls offers shelter, but Father Nikolai has yet to return from his annual venture through the planes. It’s up to Tannenholme’s brave and adept heroes to locate their divine patron and bring him home before it’s too late.

Ogden, a professional creative storyteller, and former Blizzard Artist, Chris Hayes, spearhead The Dungeon Society’s creative team. These long-time friends joined forces with six others in a shared mission to provide a unique gaming adventure that is new and different. With an approach that TTRPGs are more than just games, The Dungeon Society seeks to create epic opportunities for friends and family to come together around collaborative storytelling experiences.

SEASONS OF ADVENTURE stemmed from The Dungeon Society team’s focus on creating an experience that’s been widely missing in the gaming market. “Despite the growing popularity of advent calendars, a product like this has been largely absent within the TTRPG space,” said Hayes. “Our team of creatives has been hard at work for some time to address this and I’m beyond thrilled to finally be able to showcase this incredibly unique and fun adventure for our backers.”

This is the first product of its kind to be offered by The Dungeon Society. The company plans on producing other similar products in the future.
