WROCLAW — Mar. 28, 2023 — Death Roads: Tournament, the Mad Max-inspired deadly deckbuilding racer roguelite , drifts into Steam Early Access via PC and Mac today. Developer The Knights of Unity, a veteran team whose resumes cite Disco Elysium, GWENT, Cult of the Lamb, and SIGNALIS, will peel out and onto the newly revealed Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 versions which cross the finish line in 2024 after Early Access.
Burn rubber in the desolate future’s most addicting television show, competing for survival in a divided, post-societal America. Reduced to a barren wasteland, the once renowned world superpower has only one remaining metropolis. Entry into this guarded paradise has one price, surviving in a brutal dieselpunk death race.
Fuel up, hit the streets, and wish for some lucrative luck. Choose from eight different drivers with distinct card abilities, pairing them with eight customizable cars to form powerful decks. Modify vehicles with more than 240 Part cards across the Engine, Wheels, Back Weapon, Middle Weapon, Front Weapon, and Extra Accessory slots. Gear shift to the offensive with cards like Braking Bad to knock out other racers or use Power Shift to quickly maneuver around other vehicles.
Take hard won Scrap from encounters and make pit stops for repairs and upgrades in between choice-based Road Events. Sign on with one of five prospective sponsors to gain perks like bonus scrap or extra Part choices at shops. In this high-octane fight to the finish, there can only be one winner, so take any advantage a racer can get.
