Roadkill Film Review

Roadkill is a film directed by Warren Fast starring Danielle Harris, Catlin Carmichael, and Ryan Knudson. A young woman on an unknown mission of revenge picks up a hitchhiker. It was a risky move for a young woman all alone on the road just she is not any girl. The hitchhiker fresh out of the joint making his way to a town. Is he about to cross paths with a killer or is he the killer?

Together they head off to the next town with a few quick stops that turn out to be deadly for who they cross. At one stop they run into the local sheriff and he has words with the hitchhiker. They are not feeling each other and a call pulls the sheriff away. They take off and get stuck in a ditch as she was trying not to hit a turtle. They get help from the deputy to get pulled out of the ditch. Off they go again stopping for a bite to eat the sheriff finds out there have been some murders.

Now they are the prime suspects but not before a few more killings on the run they high tail it and after a high-speed chase the hitchhiker starts to put the pieces together. She is aware he knows and makes herself out to be the victim starting a battle between them to the death. A throwback vibe to 80s slasher with the road trip and hitchhiker roles. A fun film in my book and the added role with Danielle Harris makes for a must-watch. I give this one a 7 out of 10 the vibe was good in the story from the 80s feel to why the driver is on a revenge trip. The story is not 100 percent but holds up well and the misleading on who is the real killer plays out well. The end scene is a nice way to close out the film.
