SEATTLE – August 9, 2023 – 30XX, the sequel to Batterystaple Games’ mega-roguelite platformer 20XX which has been enjoyed by 4 million users worldwide, jumps and shoots out of Steam Early Access for a 1.0 launch on PC via Steam today. To ensure the Nintendo Switch version is equipped with the most powerful buster cannon, it will launch very soon.

Awaken from a thousand-year slumber after the events of 20XX as super-powered protagonists Nina and Ace. Fight for their future to discover the fate of a fragile world, and save what remains of it.

Rise, fight, fall, and adapt in the roguelite Standard Mode, or make death a mere setback in the permadeath-free Mega Mode, both supporting single player and local or online co-op. Blast away robotic baddies with Nina’s N-Buster, or slice up mechanical menaces with Ace’s A-Saber throughout randomly generated levels, collecting special weapon upgrades and hidden Techniques and Augments for mega bonus damage and satisfying, fluid movement.

Build a brutal buster by finding and combining any of Nina’s 21 Buster Mods to create bouncing wall-splitters, giant shotgun blasts, rapid-fire death spirals, and whatever the mind can cook up. Embrace Nina’s Power Fusion and fuse hard-won Boss Powers into even more elaborate abilities for endless discovery. Chain Ace’s powerful techniques together, getting up close and personal with the Dolomite Link grapplewhip, then decimating surrounding enemies with the energy scythe Thanatos’ spinning mid-air swing.

Leave a lasting impression on the Mega-community in 30XX’s Maker Mode on PC. Coming from the brains behind the beloved Mega Man Maker fan project, create completely custom levels from the ground up, all made with the very same tools used by the developers to create the levels in 30XX. Devise a devilishly challenging metroidvania, or give players the need for speed in a hand-crafted speedrunning challenge, playable on both PC and Nintendo Switch.

Take advantage of the robust Assist Mode to decrease enemy health, take less damage, and more for a tailored gameplay experience. Want even more of a challenge? Crank up the heat at the Entropy Cluster, 30XX’s highly customizable difficulty scaling system. Tackle longer levels, harsh choices, stronger and smarter enemies, and more, all for the chance to unlock even greater rewards.

“After two years in Early Access, it almost feels surreal to be releasing v1.0 of 30XX out into the wild,” said Batterystaple Games founder, Chris King. “We’re beyond thankful for the unimaginable support we’ve received from our Early Access community, and we’re stoked to see the types of weapon combinations and incredible custom levels players will dream up for 30XX!”

30XX launches today on PC via Steam for $19.99 USD with English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified) language support. The Nintendo Switch version will debut in the near future. 30XX’s original soundtrack is also available to purchase for $9.99 USD.
