Boston, MA – Little Fuss, a collection of shy creatives hoping to take their introverted perspectives and write songs that make them loud enough to hear,  has partnered with The Big Takeover to release “A Modern Olympia.” The track, which speaks candidly about women’s experiences in a modern patriarchal society and the lack of equality, is available for download and streaming on all digital platforms now, while the premiere can be found on The Big TakeoverThe video for the single can be seen here.

Olivia Martinez, frontwoman of Little Fuss, knew the importance of highlighting how dark things particularly feel for women after realizing the similarities between the sexualization of the female image in a collection of paintings in the 1800s, which sparked a massive controversy, and the repression of sexual rights for women today. Just like the series of paintings that originally depicted Venus as a goddess before representing her as a prostitute, most women in society are judged by how they’re represented by the men that surround them, not their true selves. Seeing that women were either sexualized or villainized based on the opinions of men, not their own intentions, Little Fuss wrote the searing commentary and added Olympia as one of the nine characters in Little Fuss’ cinematic, nine-chapter concept album, Girls At Parties.

Girls At Parties, the cinematic, nine-chapter concept album from Little Fuss is the debut album from the indie art-pop outfit. A sonic extension of their 2021 debut EP, Hazy, Girls At Parties perfectly embodies the dichotomy of their music, with inquisitive lyrics set against cinematic arrangements. Both the title track from Girls At Parties, which gathered champions at 1883 Magazine and Ones To Watch, and the second single from that record, “Guardian Angel,” which was added to Billboard‘s 10 Cool New Pop Songs round-up, can be streamed and downloaded on digital platforms worldwide. Out January 12, 2023, the album takes listeners on a profoundly emotional psychological journey that explores the perspectives and experiences of nine apprehensive interconnected characters navigating a social gathering, and as a searing commentary on grief, anxiety, and other mental health topics. Each of the LPs 90’s-esque power-pop-twinged tracks swirl vividly around the misery of the song’s specific protagonist.
